ABOUT

I’m Lauren, a Brand + Layout Designer creating thoughtful visual solutions through authenticity, craft, and intention.

I grew up noticing design everywhere — packaging in grocery store aisles, fashion magazines my mom read, Pokemon cards. I still do. Everything manmade is a designed object if you take the time to look long enough, and that habit is where my inspiration and fascination for design comes from.

I start every project the same way: research first, references second, and then pencil to paper. My process first lives in a sketchbook, moving puzzle pieces around until a visual language starts to make sense. That process matters to me because the most memorable and powerful brands aren't simply visually consistent, they're earned too; they have depth and something real to say to the people they're for.

My experience spans editorial, branding, studio, and civic work. I've served as Director of Layout & Design at Gray Area Magazine, interned at Skybridge Studios in Newburyport and The Element Group in Portsmouth, and completed a graphic design internship with the Connecticut Secretary of State, where I learned to design within systems and for broad public audiences. I work across the Adobe suite — Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop. New tools don't intimidate me, if it serves the work I’m ready to learn it.

I'm a recent graduate of Connecticut College and I’m looking for my first full-time role, somewhere I can build things with care and keep learning from people who take craft seriously.
